Putnam County Railway Bike Path

NYS Department of Transportation - The construction of a 5.7 mile long bike path on an abandoned railroad bed involved significant logistical coordination. Tree clearing on a narrow pathway, the installation of box culverts as well as the fabrication and installation of 2 prefabricated pedestrian bridges up to 200’ long were included in the work. One of the challenges of this project was moving material to the site through the wood on a narrow pathway and setting up a crane to launch the bridges in a very tight location.
